PRODUCTION PHOTOS
Professional photos are to be taken at the technical rehearsal so please ensure everything is ironed and clean. Please also ensure you arrive to tech (and dress) with your make-up and hair already done. Photos will be available to purchase on line and at the show on Saturday 13th July. (If you purchase the pre-printed photos at the show Academy Arts get 10% of the sales.​
HAIR & MAKE-UP
HAIR: Younger female students are to have their hair in low french plaits and sprayed within an inch of its life so it doesn't become whispy and fall out of it's style. If you have shorter hair please ensure it is off your face. Older students please style your hair as required for each section.​ ​ MAKE-UP: Female Students may wear lipstick and mascara and blush but please don't allow the younger students to over do it. For the end of the show girls can wear red lipstick as red is the dominant colour for the finale.​
SHOW FEE
Please check you have paid your show fee and please bring it in cash only. ​ ​​ Payment: Costume & show fees are to be paid in CASH at class. Please ensure cash is in an envelope clearly marked with the students name and how much is inside (and what it's for). Please ensure this is given to a member of staff. May I request that anyone paying in cash ensures that the notes are legitimate and please don't give us out of date notes or coins...pretty please!!!!)
COSTUMES
Costume lists/fee forms will be sent out soon. We endeavour to keep the price as low as possible. Most costumes are to be hired from us but there are also some bits of costume that are to be sourced by the students/parents. ​ Please do borrow from people and lend each other items you may have. When the costume lists go out parents often think we expect everyone to buy everything brand new. We really don't. Lean on the little community we have here at Academy Performing Arts and of course ask your friends if they have any bits you can borrow. If any of you want to "friend" me on facebook (I know Im old) I'm under "Nina Academyarts" you can use that page to ask each other for costume ideas, bits and even lifts etc. ​ IMPORTANT: If you do buy anything new KEEP THE RECEIPT. CHAPERONES- We Need You!
CHAPERONING- A note from Academy Arts Chaperone co-ordinators Introducing your child to the world of Performing Arts means developing their confidence as well as having fun by participating in Academy Arts Productions. In order for the children to participate in productions a parent or registered Chaperone must look after them. It is important for your child to be properly supervised back stage so that they can have fun performing in a safe, calm environment. Whilst show time is very exciting and enjoyable it can also be quite overwhelming and tiring for some children. Parents/relatives may chaperone their own child without being CRB checked however we do rely on parents coming forward to support the children by applying for a Chaperone License as by law one chaperone can be responsible for up to 12 students. With children as young as those in Academy kids a ratio of 1:6 students is implemented. Having registered chaperones alleviates having as many parents as children in the dressing room during a show, which as you can imagine becomes chaos. To become a registered Chaperone you must first become CRB checked if you are not already and then attend an informal meeting with the Child Protection Department at your local authority. Each local authority is different, some charging for CRB checks and some not whilst some will allow us to send information in on your behalf and others do not.
